Russell Wantland

General Counsel - Resolution Legal Group

Russell Wantland, J.D., M.B.A., has experience advising a diverse group of clients and business ventures across a wide range of industries. He primarily works alongside businesses to provide oversight and advisement on strategic planning, acquisitions, development, financing, forecasting, and litigation matters. Mr. Wantland assists growing consumer brands in launching and managing local and global franchise systems and regularly advises clients on banking, equity financing, real estate investment, development, management, and revitalization. He also advises several Oklahoma-based private equity firms focused on building asset portfolios across real estate, local energy, technology, and medical sectors.

Drawing on deep knowledge of the local market and extensive experience evaluating and structuring investments, Mr. Wantland brings a unique combination of legal and business insight to help companies improve strategic planning, operations, and long-term value. Prior to forming Resolution Legal Group, he served as General Counsel for Caliber Companies and represented clients in private practice at Mulinix, Ogden, Hall, Andrews, and Ludlam PLLC, focusing on closely held mergers and acquisitions, business litigation, and real estate transactions. Mr. Wantland earned his B.B.A., M.B.A., and J.D. degrees from the University of Oklahoma. He has been named to Oklahoma Super Lawyers multiple times and holds an AV Preeminent Rating through Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Wantland is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Urban Land Institute, and the Oklahoma Venture Forum. He is aligned with Brightwell’s mission to strengthen communities through thoughtful investment and responsible development, and he is committed to providing counsel that supports long-term value creation for organizations serving the public good.
