Tony Capucille

Chief Executive Officer

Tony Capucille serves as Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Brightwell. Born, raised, and educated in Oklahoma, Tony spent nearly two decades building and leading large-scale organizations in the payments and financial technology industry. He joined Heartland Payment Systems early in his career and rose through the organization over more than a decade, ultimately serving as Chief Sales Officer before being named President of U.S. Payment and Payroll following Heartland’s merger with Global Payments (NYSE: GPN). In that role, Tony led the domestic business through a period of accelerated growth, scaling it to more than $2 billion in annual revenue while serving over 400,000 clients nationwide. He oversaw nationally recognized sales and business development teams, led acquisitions and integrations, helped develop cloud-based payroll and point-of-sale platforms, and played a central role in relocating Heartland’s headquarters to downtown Oklahoma City, contributing hundreds of new jobs to the region. His leadership combined operational rigor with a deep commitment to people, culture, and long-term value creation.

Tony founded Brightwell after recognizing a quiet but growing problem: nonprofits that anchor our communities were being squeezed by rising energy costs and locked out of solutions because they lacked access to capital and usable tax incentives. He is motivated by the belief that capital should serve communities and that investors deserve a meaningful say in how their tax dollars are deployed. Through Brightwell, Tony brings together impact investors, nonprofit organizations, and trusted solar partners to create projects that generate returns, stabilize operating budgets, and create energy endowments that last for decades. For Tony, this work is about legacy. It is about building something that endures, measures success by how well people are served, and strengthens the institutions that hold communities together for generations to come.
